Whenever I need a VIP day or a deep dive with someone who understands me and my business, I contact her. I’ve worked with Sonja twice before, and each time was absolutely amazing. We met in an entrepreneur group and hit it off. As we talked about everything I had on my plate that needed to get done, she mentioned having a VIP day to sort out those tasks and create a plan.

MY STORY

How my marketing career began & how it’s going now…

2004: Graduated with a B.S. In Business Administration in Finance & Investment Mgmt.

I graduated with a dual Finance and Investment Management concentration at the Palumbo Donahue School of Business Administration at Duquesne University.

I completed this degree in two and a half years. And I accepted an invitation to three honor societies: Beta Alpha Psi Honorary Fraternity, Golden Key Honor Society, and Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Society.

2004: Worked for Diageo Brands/MKTG Marketing Agency.

Upon graduation, I worked part-time as a Brand Ambassador and On-Site Market Manager for the Diageo Brands portfolio at MKTG, a global integrated marketing agency.

It was a job that paid well, and I did it for fun. However, I had yet to learn, at this time, that brand ambassador programs were part of a more extensive national marketing campaign for key brand portfolios.

I scheduled and managed events, completed event set-up and coordination, hired and trained staff on key messaging and brand activation standards, oversaw brand ambassadors, and partnered with sales reps to activate experiential events.

~Beyond that, I reported Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and event evaluations; plus, actively strategized new, effective marketing tactics for future sales.

2006: Worked as a Financial Analyst

My first job in business administration was as a Financial Analyst for an engineering and construction firm, The Shaw Group Inc. I was responsible for Sarbanes Oxley Self-Testing Audits for the basic accounting and operational functions of the business.

And let me tell you, everyone from the executive team down to the entry level employees were listening and learning from me, on how to strengthen our operations. 

Moreover, I learned how businesses run efficiently, how to detect and prevent fraud, and how to standardize policies and operations to streamline sustainable businesses. I was promoted twice in the short time I was there. 

2009: I began working for Sparking Nuvo Liquor/The JV Group as a Market Manager

I managed the entire Pittsburgh/Allegheny Market for Sparkling Nuvo Events and Promotions. At this time, I was responsible for selling in 4-6 cases per promotion into restaurants, bars, and nightclubs throughout the city. In addition, I negotiated menu placements and sampling programs and managed multiple weekly brand activations. Collectively, the brand ambassador program grew Sparkling Nuvo to a 210,000-case brand, eventually selling for $50 Million.

I established relationships with key target accounts and partnered with local distributors to secure large case deals. In addition, I identified key events for brand partnerships—developed a promotion strategy to ensure inventory depletion, and secured product placement opportunities.

Plus, I collaborated with local distributors as a specialized selling resource; identified new promotion and sales opportunities, provided constructive feedback, and shared compelling sales stories.

2011: Became the National Marketing Program Manager, Field + Experiential Events

I worked for a ground-breaking and award-winning marketing agency, Mirrorball Agency. I managed national campaigns in 10 major markets. My work included celebrity events, collaborations with digital media, thousands of monthly brand activations, producing high-end luxe events, digital marketing strategy, social media, social listening, data analysis, influencer marketing, and so much more.

Further, I managed sponsored events & influencer content from deal signature to launch, implementation, production, activation, and recap. Liaison between Talent Agents, P.R., and Brand Reps. And created event partnerships in Fashion, Beauty, Lifestyle & Music.

I also led content creation, editing, and digital strategy for our lifestyle blog, celebrity coverage, and consumer interaction; interviewing and leveraging relationships with key influencers while managing the editorial calendar, photoshoots, and talent coordination.

2013: Became a Global Marketing Specialist for Capezio Ballet Makers

I traveled across the United States, Canada, Central and South America, and the Caribbean, managing significant event activations, marketing promotions, and selling thousands of pointe shoes to dance retailers worldwide, increasing sales by 33%.

I became a master of selling and promotion. I used my digital marketing skills to assist retailers in promoting their events and selling the products that I encouraged them to purchase.

I strategized, recruited, and built relationships with creative influencers to expand the Capezio Athletes and Brand Ambassador Program roster. Empowered and partnered with affiliates, institutions, and dance companies to engage with influencers to deliver timely, relevant, high-impact global content.

And I facilitated high-volume sales through experiential marketing, global brand activation, engagement initiatives, and event programming.

2016: I continued my work as Marketing Account Director at Attack Marketing Agency.

I was responsible for 35-50 markets, staffing 1000s of weekly events and promotions, creating and running national campaigns for 1500+ employees, and launching, supervising, and activating four large-scale experiential marketing programs for four brands.

I used qualitative and quantitative data to enhance and optimize performance in programs. Identified and reported key learnings, suggestions for improvement, and new business opportunities.

Further, I ensured adherence to brand standards, activation strategy, and protocol; and streamlined the entire marketing program management system;

I also created clear, concise, and compelling sales content for client presentations; supported account teams in identifying, prioritizing, and scoping client/event opportunities. My presentations acquired new clients. 

And I maintained and fostered strong client relationships and improved client experience across the whole creative process by working with stakeholders.

2018: I discovered the adventurous world of digital marketing, sales funnels, and Clickfunnels.

I created my first funnel without much guidance. But I designed something beautiful and clean as possible, wrote copy from my heart, and launched quickly. I validated my offer within three days of launching.

At this time, I realized the power of digital marketing and began funnel hacking, studying funnel strategy, traffic, and copywriting. 

2020: I became a Certified Master Marketer.

I mastered digital funnel strategy, offer creation, funnel data analysis, organic traffic, sales techniques, sales calls, copywriting, conversion copy, email marketing, funnel design, automation, and social media strategy.

I used my finance education to analyze data, create tracking spreadsheets, and master the art of scaling businesses. I studied successful businesses, watched the journeys of millionaire course creators and documented their elevation to eight figure businesses and beyond.

I immersed myself in the business of online marketing, course creation, and lead generation. And began guiding entrepreneurs on business strategy, customer awareness, value ladder creation, offer creation, launch strategy, tactical and operational tasks, data analysis and profit producing activities.

I also took over Marie Forleo’s old Facebook group, voted #1 out of 30,000 members to run the group upon her abrupt departure. We rebranded the group to Good Business Collective.

2021 - Became a Fractional CMO and Chief Marketing Strategist for Entrepreneurs ready to scale to six to seven figures and beyond.

Currently on a mission to develop, refine, and scale one hundred businesses in the online course industry to 3 million dollars within three years. Looking for ambitious, tenacious, and optimistic entrepreneurs who need expert guidance without the full-time costs;
